This explanation I've always heard is that when everyone took a bath in the same water, the babies were bathed last after the men of the house, then the women, then the other children!. So by then the water was really dirty, and it was possible to lose the baby in it!. So they had to be careful before they threw out the water that there was no baby still in the tub!Www@QuestionHome@Com
