Do you believe that Gilles de Rais was really bad person!?
As I know that he was the one who fought and he serve as Joan of Arc's bodyguard!. I really couldn't immegin how could he did such a crazy things like this following document states!.

: But Gilles was still not sated; he would continue to sexually abuse the dead body, sometimes cutting open the stomach, then squatting in the entrails and masturbating!. When he reached a climax he would collapse in a faint, and be carried off to his bed, where he would remain unconscious for hours!. His accomplices would meanwhile dismember and burn the body!. On some occasions, he later confessed, two children were procured, and each obliged to watch the
other being raped and tortured!.

Do you think is it possible that Gilles was also the same victim of the condamn just like Joan was found gulty of being a witch!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Gilles de Rais was a human being, and most of us have a dark side--but most of us also keep that side in check!.

Obviously, Gilles did so as well--for a time!.

He only 'went to the bad,' if you will, after his honorable service with the Maid!. Sad, but true!.

My understanding is that he turned to the dark arts in an attempt to regain his fortune!. This did not necessarily turn him into what we would now call a serial killer, but when a person violates one social taboo, it becomes easier and easier to violate others!.

Or--it isn't out of the realm of possibility--he had been committing his crimes all along!. Medieval warfare was just as brutal as it is today, and there were no Geneva Convention rules to protect noncombatants (even if the rules are more often honored in the breach rather than in the observance!)!. So, it is plausible that Gilles had indulged his appetite for the torture and killing of youngsters even then!.

I really don't believe he was just an innocent victim of a legal system that had already passed a verdict and merely manufactured the evidence to support it--a situation that was NOT so in the case of his famous companion in arms!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

An ally of Joan of Arc during the Hundred Year War, de Rais was instrumental in driving the English out of France!. After the war he was named Marshal of France by King Charles VII and settled in a Brittany estate!. There he enjoyed killing young boys, whom he would sodomize before and after decapitation!. He also liked to watch his servants murder boys, as he masturbated over their entrails!. De Rais was interested in black magic and alchemy!. Murders that weren't for his own pleasure were used as sacrifices in an effort to turn iron into gold!.
De Rais was arrested for heresy after attacking a priest!. He was soon charged with murder, and eventually confessed to killing at least 800 children!. His servants were tortured into confessing and de Rais was found guilty!. He begged for forgiveness from the parents of the children he had killed, and was allowed to be garroted to death before he was burned!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
