In the East, the major cities would have been Thessalonica (greece), Alexandria (Egypt), and Antioch (middle-east)!.

In the West, outside Rome, the major city would have been Carthage (which, though destroyed by Rome during the Punic Wars, was later re-founded)!. In France, the largest city would have been Marseilles (Marsillia)

Those were the 5 biggies!.!.!.!.In the 2nd rank after these, in Spain, Barcelona and Valencia; in Thrace (area of Turkey) Byzantium, which was later Istanbul; in Germany, Trier; then Milan, Verona, and Palermo, Italy!. The 3rd rank would include Chiusi (near Florence, which was a village then), Stuttgart, Germany; Athens, and Lyon, France!.

Paris would be barely a village, until about the 5th century!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
