He also took a coin from the cursed treasure (he sent it to Will)!. The only way to break the curse for all of the pirates who took some of the gold was for each coin to be returned to the chest with blood from each of them!. Since they shot bootstrap into the ocean, his blood was unavailableWww@QuestionHome@Com

The entire crew of the Black Pearl minus Jack stole the Aztec gold together (we also know he sent s piece of it to his son)!. Everyone who took even one piece of gold owed blood, so they needed his too!. The crew sunk him after they took the gold, but before they realized they'd need his blood!.

I do believe he was one the the pirates on the ship when they stole the gold and was killed by Barboso {hope I spelled it correctly} I hope that is right, my 11yr old could tell you for sure but he's not here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
