This looks like an attempt at copying an ancient work, but one that was poorly executed!. It's likely a piece of "knock-off" art that someone bought on a tour or vacation!.

The figure isn't of any particular individual, not a pharaoh or anyone from history!. It's a generic likeness of an idealized male form, but other than that, it's nothing special!. More importantly, the fine definition of muscles marks this as a modern copy!. Ancient and even later Egyptian sculpture did not involve a lot of muscle definition--this was an ideal brought from Greece and Rome when those cultures conquered the Nile valley!.

If you noted any images on the mantle (the gold around the neck and shoulders) you might find evidence of an attempt at connecting the figure to history!. If you saw a falcon or eagle image, this would indicate a pharaoh-like figure, but it's probably just decorated with generic heiroglyphs that everyone recognizes as Egyptian, but that don't really mean much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
