Question: Academically speaking which do you find more passionate, the First or the Second World War!?

Passionate!? I suppose the Second World War!. The First was simply too grim, and generally too static!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

World War One was a different type of war altogether,and I am not just speaking of technology and the difference between static and mobile warfare!.

I am talking about how the world was prior to the conflict!.WWI was the end of Kings and Queens, Monarchies would end and the entire world lost it's innocence!.

Chivalry died in The First World War!

Commanders fought with outdated tactics leftover from a more chivalrous era,untold human suffering would result from battle tactics that were useless against machine guns and high powered mobile artillery,the likes which had never been used in battle before!.

WWI rendered useless the cavalry which had been outflanking the enemy for centuries,the mounted soldier was no match for fully automatic rifles and artillery that could be fired at previously unheard of rates!.Not to mention,flamethrowers,fighter planes,bombers,submarines,and tanks all new to the battlefield in WWI!.

Weapons that would come to fruition in WWII!.

It's hard to consider either war as being passionate,unless you are passionate about killing!.

The world,as those who knew it,died during WWI,and afterwords spun out of control and into a great depression,in a way it was reborn during WWII the bastard son of WWI,this son would grow up to be a different kind of man!

A 20th century warmongering juggernaught that would not listen to his father "The War To End All Wars" in fact it would seem that he can not get enough of war!.

I feel I am more passionate about the second World War!. I am a Jew, whos family was sponsored by an american family after the fall of the Nazis!. We are survivors of the Holocaust!. So passion is the eye of the beholder!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Second!. Do a search for The War book or DVD on PBS!. Bruce Canton is one of the authors- He's a young looking man who also wrote of The Civil War!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well im only intrested in the eastern front in ww1 because my great grandfathers were taken into the russian army as poles!.And in ww2 im intreseted in all the front mostly eastern and western!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
