Around the turn of the last century there were journalist who were known as "muckrackers" (I think) and they led a call for reform of factories and living conditions in the heart of the industrial age!.

I love the Jane Addams story!. She started the first settlement house in the US, and started the move toward humane consideration for those less fortunate!.

Ralph Nader was the person who helped to institute car safety standards!. His book was "On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors!." A classic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
