What is the relationship between the Harappan sites and the current and ancient
river beds of this region!? What does this relationship suggest for our

Like almost all early civilizations, they arose around the rivers or in the dry river beds near them!. The Harappans also settled the seacoast!.

For the Harappan sites, many more sites have been found away from the Indus and at other river beds instead!. This could also be because the Indus has been inhabited over and over again on top of each other, while the desert areas where the ancient river beds once lied have not been settled since they dried making it easier to excavate ancient sites!.
