Contact the Polish embassy in Canada and tell them about you great uncle, and give as much details as you can, name, unit, area he fought in as a partisan!. They may have information on specific partisans or their role!. You may also like to research the German occupation in Poland to see what areas had active partisan operations!. Now that communism in Poland is over, you may also be able to locate records of internement of anti-communists after WW2!. Although you may need to read and speak Polish for that!.

When contacting the embassy find out if there are any online Polish-English (language) websites dedicated to the partisans!. I am sure they would be happy to help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
