Question: What makes the seven wonders so wondrous!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Because it's almost incomprehensible how the civilizations of the past could ever build monuments so big, in such a precise way!.

for instance, the sides of all three of the Giza pyramids were astronomically oriented to be north-south and east-west within a small fraction of a degree!.

Stonehenge's stones had been transported by humans from the Preseli Hills, 250 kilometres (160 mi) away in modern day Pembrokeshire in Wales!. It's aligned to exactly where the sun comes up on the Summer and Winter Solstace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They are wondrous because of the engineering it took to create them!. All were a monument not only to a particular god or ruler, but to the audacity, imagination, and determination of men to raise such buildings!. It's a shame that only the Pyramids have survived; we still know too little of many of the other Wonders!. And in this day and age, you'd be hard put to choose only 7 constructions that would classify as a modern Wonder of the World!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because they were built without our modern conveniences, like hydraulics, internal combustion engines and electronics!.

Just pulleys, ropes, wheels, blood, sweat and tears!.
Oh, and genius!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because the ability to create what they did when they did , far outweighed the time they lived in , many of the projects they created would tax us now with all our mass machineryWww@QuestionHome@Com
