yeah, if you are talking about slavery in America concerning the blacks and the whites!. southerners had a thing called the "one drop rule" way back then!. the one drop rule means that if you have one drop of black blood in you, then you are considered to be black!. a lot of mixed race people tried to "pass" as white, but some of them were caught and were sometimes killed or kicked out into the streets!. a movie to watch that would show a great example of that would be "Queen," which stars Halle Berry, Raven Simone (when she was a toddler), Jasmin Guy, and Danny Glover!. a great, great movie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mixed raced people were slaves also!. In New Orleans they had the famous Quadroon Balls where women some quadroon, octraroon and even mustees would dress to the nines, and dance the night away with white boy friends!.Many of these women were "kept" by the rich land owners!. Legally, from the mid-seventeenth century in america, if your mother was a slave then you were a slave yourself, regardless of who your father was!. This meant that white slave owners could father children on their female slaves without having to worry about the children becoming free!.
