Robert Kennedy was killed!. The Prisoner TV series began in the U!.S!. on June 1, 1968!. Nixon came into power!.

Gasoline was still cheap, as was food, but the war in Vietnam was creeping into all segments of society in the U!.S!., even in U!.S!. comedy programs of the day!.

Of all the events, probably the showing of "The Prisoner" had the most impact, not withstanding the assassinations!. Having read the history of that program, I understand that a few episodes were banned because it was fealt that they couldn't be broadcast on American television at the time!. And, this was a time when we were seeing real people being really killed on TV!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I, myself, don't have a lot of confidence in the fundamental inspiration of these changes, though in detail, not all of them were wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
