What happened to the Astors?

Question: What happened to the Astors!?

I know the Astor family was really rich in the 1800s and early 1900s, but what happened to them!? Does the Astor family still own the Waldorf-Astoria and such, or did their fortune die out!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

They are still around!. Brooke Astor just died last year!. The family is still very wealthy although I think they have sold off many of their holdings!. Mrs!. Astor was a famous philanthropist in NYC, one of her favourite charities was the New York Public Library!.

You can still see the tile art in the Astor St!. subway station that depicts a beaver, the Astor family crest of sorts!. The family is very much a part of NY history!.

I believe a corporation runs the Waldorf these days, most of the hotels are run by corporations it seems!. (yes it is a corp - see link)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know John Jacob Astor IV died on the titanic, not sure what became of any of the others in modern times!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
