Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: They were, the whole time!. If you were to ask one of the KKK though what they were fighting for, they would answer 'for white independence!.' I would actually call them all cowards!. You are very right in saying that the way how they attacked innocent people was very cowardly!. And they continue to take grudges against anyone really who doesn't agree with them, or look like them!. They hate Chistians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, you name it, and above all they hated black's!. Probably the most famous circumstance of KKK 'group action' was the Missisipi Burnings, where the KKK attacked black people whilst they were leaving Church's and reduced many black communities to ash!. However, when many of the KKK members were caught by the police (even though some of the police were KKK members) and questioned, they were totally not cooperating and making up false statements!. How they acted was cowardly!. And even when many of them were released, they continued terrorise and sometimes, even kill!. I think they are all a bunch of cowards!. Even though today they do not kill, they are very biased people who if they could, would probably attack in the same ways they did in th early 1900's!. They wore white hoods for a reason!.!.!. they did not want to be recognised for the actions they committed!. They were happy living their lives normally, when at the same time they were terrorising innocent people, and for what!? Their beliefs which they couldn'y, and can't, even express openly without wearing a stupid bright costume!. They attacked in packs because they felt safer!. Just like a school bully would attack a little kid with all his 'mates behind him to back him up!.' They were definitely cowards!. The mast majority of lynching involved mass-hysteria that local law enforcements were unable to control!. Not only were blacks victims of mob violence but whites too!. There were also a number of black on black lynching and murders!.
