Why did women wear corsets?

Question: Why did women wear corsets!?

At the time, waistlines of a certain diameter were fashionable, and so, women laced, and had themselves laced, into these 'straitjackets' to prove that they were desirable!.!. While those are very rarely as constraining, they ARE still used, but, not to the same severity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A corset is a garment worn to mold and shape the torso into a desired shape for aesthetic or medical purposes!. or women this most frequently emphasizes a curvy figure, by reducing the waist, and thereby exaggerating the bust and hips, and make them feel sexier and attractive!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
