I have a May 15th 1862 five dollar bill I found it while cleaning my husbands juck pile along with some other very old looking bills from many different states, I wonder if they are worth anything at all!? Some are for as much as 1000 dollars how can I tell if they are real or fake!? And what they may be worth!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Money created by institutions chartered by the government of the Confederate States of America has no value whatsoever except to collectors of civil war collectibles!. Assuming that it is authentic I would photocopy it and send the photocopy to any one of dozens of artifact dealers that can be found on the internet or in civil war history magazines as advertisers!. Then arrange to have the actual bills inspected by a reputable coin dealer!.

Good luck!. And don't try to buy anything with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
