Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: THE best book I have EVER read about the Vietnam War from the earliest beginnings to the dreadful end was without a doubt "The Making of A Quagmire" by David Halberstam!. This is a review I read; Halberstam's Pultizer-Prize-winning eyewitness account of the most critical political period of American involvement in Vietnam is now used for classrooms!. The Making of a Quagmire captures the story of the Diem/Kennedy era, and the fundamental misconceptions that governed American policy and the South Vietnamese perspective!. This book was SO GOOD I gave it out for Christmas presents! A MUST READ!.Www@QuestionHome@Com One of them MUST be "365 Days" by Ronald Glasser!. I read this in high school and it was the most devastating thing I had ever encountered!. I actually had to stand up and stroll around the room in order to make it through the last part of the book!.
