Archimedes was one of the most brilliant men of all time!. He made discoveries that even today we don't know how he did the calculations!.
- He was famous for being totally obsessed by his mathematics!. There is a famous story of how he discovered the Corialis effect in the bath, and was so overcome with excitement that he ran into the street shouting "Eureka, Eureka" or "I have found it!"
- Supposedly the Roman soldier was under orders to bring Archimedes into captivity!. When Archimedes replied that he was working on a problem, the soldier promptly stabbed the unarmed man for his insolence!. The image of an uneducated soldier destroying one of the greatest minds ever known to mankind has remained powerful for centuries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a reference to the killing of Archimedes!. He wasn't a slave though!. The Romans had invaded the city, Syracuse, where he lived!.
