Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Palestinians are basically Arabs who are Islamic in faith!. Islam is about 1200 years old!. Christianity is 2000 years old and Judaism is 4000 years old!. Arab culture arose out of the Ottoman empire which began around 900AD!. Palestinian is a term the Romans coined about 2000 years ago to describe the peoples that were living in what was once Philistine!. Bottom line, Judaism and Jewish ethnicity is thousands of years older than Islam and Arab/Palestinian culture!. The Hebrew spoken today is basically the same as what was spoken 3000 years ago!. Traditions such as Passover, Hanukkah, etc, are as old too!. Some argue that today's Palestinians are descendants of the Philistines and Canaanites (which no longer exist), and while probably true, the peoples and cultures share absolutely nothing!. Abram had a son Isaac and he had a son named Jacob!. Later on in Jacob's life he had a power struggle with an Angel of the Lord!. From that time on his name was renamed Israel!.
