Question: What did Nelson Mandela do!?

I have seen many articles that says he is one of the greatest leaders of all time, which makes me kind of mad, because I have not found one thing that he has done that could qualify him as a great leader!. Many articles compare him to Martin Luther King, and Ghandi!. Can anyone tell me anything really important he has done!. And going to prison is not amazing idc about that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He was the former president of South Africa!. He is put in prison for 27 years for crimes he alegedly commited as he battled againt apartheid!.
Apartheid- a system of legalized racial segregation enforced by the National Party government of South Africa between 1948 and 1990!.
