Question: If the FOUNDING FATHERS were around today, what would they think!?!?!?!?

on one hand, America is the richest strongest nation on earth, the exact opposite of what was the case when they were around!.

on the other, huge government, an increasing nanny state, corruption out of control!. most were isolationist by nature so they would not like things like Iraq, and they would despise how disconnected and uninvolved most Americans are in the goings on of their government!.

there are many pros and cons but overall!.!.!.!.

how do you think they would react to modern America, and how do you think many in society would react to them!?

some were slave owners, imagine the out cry from the civil rights community to Thomas Jefferson or George Washington!?

things could get ugly in a hurry!

I think George Washington would be shocked at what he would see as a serious lack of morals in our people today!.

I think Ben Franklin would be more ok with our society today than Washington (he was a bit of a party animal)!. As a scientist and a writer I think he would love the Internet and our scientific advancements!.

I think almost all of the founding fathers would be seriously upset at the way the federal government has ballooned into such a huge beast!. It's involved in way more than they ever intended!. They would also be upset at the domination of the states by the federal government and practically total elimination of state's rights following the civil war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They would be happy that their plans to end slavery worked!. They would be very disappointed at the amount of violence in America, how many criminals in America, and how businessmen/women are manipulating and gouging the American public!.
They would also want to know why, when the guns of their day were single-shot muzzle loaders, the Second Amendment of the Constitution includes automatic rifles and pistols today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They would think that America has been ruined!. They wrote the Declaration of Independece to say that our country was free and would make its own decisions!.
Last time i checked the most recent govermental decision people have gotten to make is whether or they should donate money to a campaign!.

Most people would be embarresed that the founding fathers would see how far they've fallen!.

seriously- i think they would be both impressed out of their minds and outraged!. in a fairly short amount of time, the US has gone VERY far in every category, but with those conveniences people have also changed!. they would most likely understand why society isw the way it is- they were reflective men!. they would have propositions to change things to brings back the tradition's of colonial america!.

Americans are so spoiled and selfish that 90% in my opinion only care about themselves and no one else!.
None of us use manors, we are very inconsiderate and nobody has values anymore!. As long as we get Starbucks in the morning and our favorite TV shows at night we could care less what is going on with our fellow man or what the goverment is doing!. What happen to fighting for what's right like they did in the 50's and 60's!? Nobody does that anymore, we all just B!AtcH~ about it and thats it!.

Well, it seems like people like to lump all the "Founding Fathers" into one like minded groupe!. The truth is, much like politics today, they didn't agree on much!. Alexander Hamilton was a proponant of free trade and business, while Jefferson wanted teriffs to benifit local farmers!. Because of modern farming technology, I think they would all be in favor of slavery being illegial in the 21st century!. Many would see American capitalism as wrong, like Jefferson or Jackson!. I dont think any of them would have approved of the party system and what it has become!. I think many would see it as choosing one tyrrany over the other!. Many woundn't approve of how globalized society!. Bottomline, i think you could seperate them over the economy!. One benifiting local farmers and laborers by isolationism, while the others would be for economic expansionism and big business!. Overall, I cant see how they couldn't be quite pleased!. I'm not sure if they would be pleased with the politics, but what technology allows us to do!. If they could have relied on 2% of the population to grow enough food for the entire state, they wouldn't have used slaves!. So politics are to a rather large extent a matter of capabilities, and we are just capable of doing things they would have never deamed!.
But with technology thrown aside, they would be just as devided as we are!. Although I dont think they would like the 2 party system, some would sympathise with the democrats, others with republicans, just like we do today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
