Question: What would have happened in WW2 if Japan never attacked the USA!?

our involvement in the atlantic theater was certain, and we would have declared war on germany by 1943, with involvement starting in 44!. Germany would have continued its assault on russia, and still make little progress!. Eventually they would have stopped their advance all together, and form a defensive line!. This would hold until the undeclared naval war between u!.s!. and germany blew up into something much larger, and the united states would have declared war on germany!. By this time, the japanese oil reserves would have dissapeared, and their empire would begin to self-destruct!. They would lose there strongholds in the pacific, and china would be able to push back into manchuria!. the japanese, out of utter desperation, would have to import oil form their ally germany, and thus starve them of oil also!. The german defense line would wither away in russia, and proper reinforcements to defend the french coastline and italy could not arrive!. The u!.s!. and british troops would quickly invade through italy and normandy, and the german "third reich" would have fallen by 1946!. Japan meanwhile would be forced back onto the mainland, would be unable to continue war, with the fall of germany and no oil imports!. They would surrender, but not unconditionally because they would be forced to surrender to china, and other formerly conquered countries, much weaker than the united states!. China would be much stronger than actually was at that time, and korea would have erupted into a much larger scale war, with russia and china being much stronger!. The u!.n!. would have lost many troops, and korea would have erupted into a total war, with possibly the use of nuclear weapons!. This would have led to an all-out nuclear war, that would leave the world in ruins!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Japan's government (not the Emperor) had set them on a course where they needed to "branch out" in order to fuel their empire!. If they hadn't attacked Pearl Harbor, then they would have attacked the Phillipines (they did) or Singapore (they did) or what we now call Indonesia (they did that, too)!. Once Tojo and the others put Japan on the road to war, there wasn't any turning back!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everyone assumes that the US entered the war with the bombing of Pearl Harbor!. This is not true!. That is when we declared war on Japan and Germany!. We were already involved by sending troops through volunteer service to the UK as well as supplies!. The Coast Guard would regularly report German u-boat and convoy positions to the British Navy for attack!. U-boat attacks on US ships also happened before Pearl Harbor but very carefully worded messages out of Europe had kept the peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Japan was forced to attack the US due to its lack of oil resources, which the US was withholding due to anger at the Jap's invasion of Manchuria (Manchukou)!.
So why wouldn't they attack!? They were relying on US oil to exist, and that just wasn't coming; their power was dwindling!.

If the US had ignored its missionaries and interests in China and given the Japs their precious petrol, I think that Japan would've successfully taken Manchukou, then moved in on Siberia to aid the Germans!. The USSR would've been hosed; war on either side of one of the largest countries on earth would've been really, really hard!. They would've had to either had to take troops from Stalingrad, Leningrad, and Moscow, spelling defeat there, or dynamited vast chunks of the Trans-Siberian railroad to slow the Japanese advance, pretty much dooming most of Eastern Russia!. End of Soviets!. The US, being the last superpower left standing, would be left to fight a very different war!. Eastern hemisphere vs!. Western Hemisphere!. Sh**!.

Of course, had Japan just chilled without oil, they would've had an entire navy floating dead in the water, complete with abandoned aircraft carriers washing up on beaches!. Surreal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most believe German forces would have been able to preserve their foothold in the western front, though their collapse in the Soviet Union at Stalingrad spelled inevitable doom long-term, the war would have been lasted for many more years to come!. On top of that Japan's expansion into Manchuria and their acquistion of resource rich islands by Australia and the Phillipines would have established them as a major political power for generations to come!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, japan would be one of the strongest nations in the world right now!. and they probly wouldve aided hitler, helping him conquer russia, and the holocaust wouldve been even worse!. because russia was the original target to place all the jews/slavs at the time, but when hitler epically failed in taking over russia, the plans changed!.
but whos to say!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The USA would have maintained isolationism and have little authority in European politics; the Russians would be the saviours of Europe (and would have reaped the benefits)!. Japan would be a less powerful economy, perhaps even dominated by Korea!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well for 1!.!.!.!.Japan would be significantly more crowded than it is now
2!. the U!.S wouldnt have put thousands of Japanese in surveillance camps (just to keep watch on them, but nothing bad)
3!. We might of lost WWII because Japan would have many more people fighting for Hitler!.

But NOTHING IS EVER FOR CERTAIN!Www@QuestionHome@Com

the US may never have gotten involved!. The war was already going on everywhere else by then but the Pearl Harbor attack was what caused the president to declare the US in a state of war!. We may have joined later on anyways though, whether due to another country's attack or as an ally to Britain etcWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think it is unrealistic to think that we would not have been drawn in anyway!. We already had American citizens going to England to fight in their military!. Perhaps if Japan had not hit Hawaii we would have dropped the bomb on Berlin instead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the war would have lasted a bit longer in Europe but war production in the U!.S!. had already begun we were preparing to fight before we were attacked!. The U!.S!. may have not had to fight in the Pacific though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There would be about 45,000,000 more citizens living in the USA today, based upon birth rates calculated since 1941!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It would have been a lot shorter of a war, that is for sure!. Other than that, there is no way to know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ther would have been no hiroshima nagazaki atom bomb incident in japanWww@QuestionHome@Com

It would have ended a lot sooner, that's for sure, but the USA would have still gone to war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well Japan wouldn't have gotten NUKED! The same outcome in the end!.!. just a little less pissed at Japan!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
