In 1800, Alessandro Volta created the first device which produced a large electrical current!. This device was known as an electric battery!. If you mean harnessing lightning, no one has been able to do that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

All Ben Franklin discovered was the lightning was a form of electricity!. Electricity was known long before Franklin's kite experiment!.

So, he most certainly did NOT discover that the sky was full of electricity, and, no one has yet to discover a way to harness the electricity "of the sky!."Www@QuestionHome@Com
