Question: Did the choctaw Indians start stickball was it made by a different tribe!?

According to books I read in college when I took a native American Arts and Culture class!. It was not started by the Choctaw tribe!. But id was started by not only Native North American Tribes (Choctaw,Cherokee,Iroquois) but Meso-American Tribes as well (Aztecs, Toltecks, Myans, Incas)
It was used not only as a game but it was a from of warfare like in South America the tribes- Aztecs, Toltecks, Myans, Incas would take on another tribe in stickball and the loosers entire tribe or village was used as scrifice!. Or if a tribe or villiage won a war they used the heads of the loosers as the ball!. Stickball traditionally had many different purposes!. Some games were played to settle inter-tribal disputes!. This function was essential to keeping the Six Nations of the Iroquois together!. Stickball was also played to toughen young warriors for combat, for recreation, as part of festivals, and for the bets involved!. Finally,Stickball was played for religious reasons: "for the pleasure of the Creator" and to collectively pray for something!.
So there is not evidence I have found on the Internet or books that say Choctaw was the tribe that started stickball!. But plenty of evindence that says it was Native Northern and Meso-American Natives that started it!.
