You will probably not be able to investigate the history of your home on-line!.

Depending on the country you live in, your best option is probably to contact your local Land Registry Office and ask them to do a search on your behalf!. Most of the time, there isn't even a fee for this service, and you'll get a brief report on past residents!. Most Land Registry Offices are found in the local courthouse, but, in some larger municipalities, they have their own building or are part of a Public Records department!.

You might also want to travel to your local library and take a look at the pile of 'Annual Registers'!. These are (they're still released in most places) a kind of informal census, and contain basic information about the residents of all civic addresses in a given area, including their names, relationships and occupations!. They entries are based on property tax information and are usually very accurate!. (The other excellent thing about these is that you get more than just a name; you get enough to research people further!. I have found out tonnes of information about previous residents of my home by doing this!.)

Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

your county courthouse should have a property/deed office that could provide that information!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
