I believe so, yes!. He was an evil person too!. I also think he might have had a mental problem because he blamed the Jews for losing world war 1, which he fought in-could have had some sort of trauma there!. His mum was a Jew and he hated her!. He had anyone speaking out against him killed, which could have come about after bullying at school/in army!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. He operated out of a sense of grievance and though he was capable of sensitivity, under real pressure he was capable consciousless cruelty!. Hitler, like everyone, was motivated by life experiences combined with his ideal for the future!.
You can see this on an individual level in the functional psychopath!. Desire is all, conscience is not there!. It's hard to imagine that Hitler had a conscience!. His attacks on European nations and his murder of so many helpless victims rule out a conscience, in my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He showed an ability to be compassionate and sentimental- eg, toward Eva Braun, Rudolf Hess!. But he was far more often a ruthless person, especially as the pressures of war piled on!.

The word "ruth" means "mercy", so ruthless means merciless or cruel!.

You do know that Hitler was directly responsible for the murder of millions of people, including six million Jews!? How merciful was that!?

He was certainly ruthless when it came to enforcing his racial policies, and this horrible practice overshadows what good he did in Germany!. If he'd only died before gaining absolute power (which, as the saying goes, corrupts absolutely), he might be remembered as one of Germany's greatest Chancellors, right along with Bismarck!.

The fact is, the man was definitely more than a few eggs short of an omelet!. One can easily forget that he was fond of children (to the Goebbels brood he was "Uncle Adolf"), treated his secretaries kindly, and in his strictly private capacity was a really quite ordinary man!. That is why his other persona is so terrible (and terrifying)--we expect our monsters to be monsters all the time, and it's close to impossible to conceive of them in any other way!.

Am I an apologist for Hitler!? By no means!. What was done under his orders and according to his policies is utterly reprehensible!. He was responsible for the deaths of millions, and that doesn't even take in the military casualties on both sides!. Had I and my own family lived under his rule, two of the dearest people in the world to me would have been prime candidates for extermination (one of my children is autistic and I have a brother who is gay)!. I myself would probably have faced forced sterilization because of my "defective" offspring!.

Hitler!.!.!. was a horrible person as we came to the latter parts of his life, but it is partly to blame on his upbringing!. Arguably, the beginning of the Nazi party really did wonders to Germany and could make him a slightly more presentable person, but the fact stands; he caused the death of millions of innocents with no guilt or remorse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ruthless, yes very, determined, driven, sporadic, violent, emotional, thoughtless, absolute!.

Living in Germany for some time I have been fortunate to have meet a few people who actually knew Hitler!.

Coming from small town America and visiting Germany learning that the German people are just and peace loving as back home one asks "how did it happen!?"

Hitler was very driven, he formed his ideas at an early age, and ruthlessly pursued them to their bitter end!. When confronted with a logical argument to his ideas he refused to accept any other possibility than his!. This occasionally worked to his benefit but most often did not!. In the early days of the NSDAP he was in close personal contact with Ernst R?hm who he called a friend!. During the night of the long knives this did not prevent him, Goering or Himmler from killing him nor another 100+ people who helped build and form the Nazi Party!. If killing your friends and fellow "revolutionaries" does not earn ruthless I do not know what will!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yeah, Hitler knew what he wanted and would use any means necessary to get it!. He actually did build up his country, raise employment, defeated the treaty of versaille etc!. but he achieved these through ruthless determination!.
He thought nothing of invading weaker countries and killing innocent people!.
and obviously his 'final solution' was just sick, i think insanity had well and truly set in by then!. (the holocaust)
