Question: Costuming help!?
I'm going to a renaissance fair in eleven days, and the chemise I ordered (three weeks ago) isn't here yet!!! I don't have anything to wear if it doesn't get here and no time to order another one, there's no where for me to buy another one, and I have zero sewing skills!. What do I do!?!?!? Serious answers only, please!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh Lord, I worked Renn faire for 15 years, and I can make one is about 1/2 an hour, but telling you how to do it is a lot more difficult!. I've been siting here trying to figure out how to tell you for nearly an hour now, and I can't do it without pictures!. And you don't have the sewing skills to make the kind I do make!. SIGH!! what to suggest!?

Most of the faires I have been to sell chemises at the faire - as a last ditch, you could wear a regular peasant blouse in white to the faire (failing that, anything with an elastic or drawstring type neckline would do and then buy a "faire" chemise when you get there in a color to match your outfit!.

Bless you for trying so hard!. Truth be told, nobody will kick you out for arriving in your mundanes and changing into your costume at faire!.

God give ya good din', Blessings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi!
Well, I've got some ideas!. Use a potato sac (or similar) to represent a normal class member!. Use red, white or purple for more distinction!. Long hair for Inventors!. All muddy for painters (painters were very common during the renaissance)!. Get a book, and try to improvise on some pictures you found!. Remember, few things, but but meaningful and detailed! I Hope this helped! Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

At the Tx Renfaire they sell them at the fair even along the roadside leading to it
