Question: What might have been the impact on the Pearl Harbor had this battle turned out differently!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Turned out differently, as in America won the battle of Pearl Harbor!?

First of all, it would never have happened!. We were terribly unprepared!.

But, assuming it did somehow happen, the result would probably not be too different!. It would still have triggered our entry into the war, and the now-weakened Japanese navy would probably have fallen even earlier to the Allied forces!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It wasn't a battle-- it was a terrorist attack during wartime!.
It brough about Victory over Japan Day as the final conclusion of WWII through the Americans utilizing their atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki!. If they had not exercised their experiments on Japan, then where else would they have!? also, how long would WWII have lasted, and would it have turned to nuclear warfare!? (also, it was a vieled message to Soviet Russia, which the US had tensions with, sparking the Cold War and arms race!. Would America have dared drop an A bomb on the Russians!? Use your brain!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess to really get a good answer for this question you need to narrow down what you mean!. As far as the actual battle went, it was a stalemate, neither side really won the battle!. Yes, Japan achieved some of it's objectives, but not all, and the US could done some things differently as well!.

I've studied it for 25+ years now, and I could write a couple of pages on this question and not answer what you had in mind!. If you narrow it down a bit I'll be happy to answer (a short answer)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pearl Harbour worked almost perfectly yet Japan still lost the war!. This was because their basic strategy was faulty, ie, their battle plans worked but what these abttles were supposed to achieve (America begging for peace) did not!. Even if the aircraft carriers had been there and been sunk, the US would have rebuilt them and driven Japan back!. The two countries were in no way an even match!.!.!. and the US was not really 'unprepared', but had war production in full swing thanks to supplying the British and the US Government's recognition that war was inevitable!.

Japan had an evil militaristic, expansionist government that used a bizzare model of decision-making (Shintoism) that made sure nobody was responsible for decisions, and everything was done in the name of the God-Emperor!. This inevitably led to the country's self-directed destruction!. It is an object lesson in why we must bring down governments that call for wars of expansion and who put the military first!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hello!. as Admiral Yamamoto said after, he had been military attache in Washington, "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
