Question: Which side benefited from Pearl Harbor!? How!?

It always amazes me how little most anyone knows about Pearl Harbor!. As another answerer noted; Britain!. Britain was fighting alone against Hitler & Nazi Germany, though America was quietly assisting with the Atlantic naval war, and was supplying Britain with vital war material!. Still, Britain was going it alone!.
Contrary to what anyone has said the Japanese achieved no benefit from Pearl Harbor!. None!. Nada!. All that Japan did was comparable to a naked man kicking a hornets' nest and getting foot stuck in the nest!. The American losses at Pearl Harbor though tragic were minimal!. Most of the ships were later recovered and repaired since the Japanese failed to strike what should have been the primary targets; the drydocks and repair facilities, and the oil/fuel farm then and now one of the most advanced on Earth!.
Pearl Harbor truly angered Americans!. Congress declared War in One Day!. Congress historically slow & lumbering was galvanized into action!. Even if Hitler had not blundered into War, America would have stood up to fight for British possesions in the Pacific & Asia!.
However Hitler was an Idiot (that gurantees me a thumbs down) and Hitler declared war against America as a result of Pearl Harbor, clearly cleanly decisesively bringing America in on the side of the British Empire!. Thus it can be said that Pearl Harbor benefitted the Allies while assuring an ^ss whipping for Japan!.

The Allies benefited, because the US joined the war on their side!. Ultimately this made victory inevitable!.

The Japanese did not benefit as much as they had expected!. This is because they only managed to sink the US battleships!. The US aircraft carriers were out at sea!. As it turned out, aircraft carriers and not battleships were the ships that really mattered in World War II!.

One could even say that the US itself benefited!. From the point if view of American interests, it was surely necessary and correct for the US to enter World War II and defend democracy against fascism!. However, this would have been much more difficult if the Japanese had not bombed Pearl Harbor!. Until then American public opinion was strongly opposed to entering the war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Defiantly the US, which in turn won the war for the Allies!. The Japs attacked hard and fast, it was a success!. But as Yamanoto put it, "We have woke a sleeping giant" and indeed they did!. It set off a whole anti-Jap rush across the US, many men volunteered for duty, and the isolationism was erased!. So in conclusion, since we got into the war, the Japanese ultimately lost!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think the united states because it gave the Americans the will and determination to fight and the admiral how cared out the attack though that they whier going to lose if they attacked the United States!. Even though sadly it caused massive American lives!. And really they did not achieve thier main objective attack and destroy the united states air craft carriers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ultimately, the USA!. The attack drew us into WWII sooner rather than later when our enemies would have been stronger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
