Question: Did the Nazi really search for historical artifacts pre and during WW2!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The Nazis did indeed look after different artifacts before the war!. Within the organization of the SS there was a section called "Ahnenforschung"!.

This section was in charge of establishing the genealogy of SS officers and personalities!. They also checked if there were any Jews in people's family trees; and they also sought after proof for the origin of Aryanisme!.

Within the Ahnenforschung there was an exterior team responsible for everything that had to do with archeology, under the responsibilitity of Otto RAHN (look this name up)
Otto Rahn was an man of the field, and he convinced Himmler to make researches for the Holy Grail!. These researches strade all over France before the war, and more intensively after France had been overrun!. Anyway, Otto Rahn centred his researches around Rennes Le Chateau near the Spanish border!. This area is known as detaining certain secrets about a treasure (material or spiritual!?!?!?) beeink kept there since centuries!. Rennes le Chateau is always linked with the Abbé Saunière, the Wisigoths and the Cattarhes (look these words up)!? Many books have been written about this theme, and Otto Rahn apears in several of these!.

Whether Otto Rahn found anything or not is uncertain!., but speculations say he did find a decisive lead!. He was found dead in the mountain and had no papers of any sort with him, and all his personal belongings had disapeared!Www@QuestionHome@Com

There were a couple, but not the way it's shown in the Indiana Jones movies - most of them were in Tibet looking for the ancient Aryan connection!. There are home movies of Hitler making fun of them and their obsession!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
