I assume you're talking about the Ottoman Sultan, who was also regarded as a Caliph!. At that time the Turkish nationalists were on the rise & gradually gained the recognition of the world!. So, there was no point of doing business with a Caliph who has no power!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
