!.!.!.yes for that would mean surrenderWww@QuestionHome@Com

In the "art of war" the opposite is put forward!.!."the battle which is not fought ,cannot be lost" basicly meaning that anytime you can solve the issue without a battle its better than to risk anything on the field,as even a battle you win can ultimately weaken you to where you lose the next one!.Any battle that can be avoided is a victory ,for both sides in the conflict!.As long as the goals sought are accomplished another way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

in a philosophical sense only

You cannot win if you don't compete!. It might be argued that sitting on the sidelines has its merits, but somehow we don't remember any famous fence-sitters!. OTOH we remember those who fought- even if they lost their fight!. Like the 300 at Thermopylae- they lost their fight!.!.!. but at the same time their victory shines through centuriesWww@QuestionHome@Com

The only battle that is truely lost is the one that prevents you from continuing the fight!. On the other hand, you can win a battle without fighting, or lose a war even if you win EVERY battle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe from a philosophical standpoint, but historically speaking battles are fought and lost all the time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
