Yes loss of life is a terrible thing!.!.!.yet!.!.like the black plague was it is a source of population control!. If things like famine, natural disasters, and yes war did not occur humanity would overrun the planet and resources would be even more scarce than they are today!. War has also been known to boost (as well as destroy) the economy!. Between WWI and WWII Germany was in a deep depression!. Most of the world was at the time!. And I am certainly not saying by any means that he was a good man by any means, but Hitler helped to boost the German economy by making war on others!. America itself was brought out of the Great Depression by Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor!. War is a great motivator!. War is also the mother of invention and many scientific discoveries can be linked to times of War!. The funny thing about history is that it has a tendency to repeat itself over and over!. Civilizations fall and others rise in their place!. And most of the time its the same wars being fought by the same people again and again!. People are STILL fighting over the differences in religion when they should reconise the similarities and celebrate the differences!. You'd think we humans would learn after thousands of years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I don't think there is a good things in war, but, aside from all the bad things, I'll say war can reduce population!. Face it, the world is almost over-populated, so that's good!. It is also some kind of a way to show how strong some country is compare to others, it'll make them easier in their diplomatic relationship with other country!. And the worse part, I think war is good for science!. Since there is a war, science become very developed!. Just take nuclear (nuke) as example, it comes from war, where 'they' asked Einstein to develop it so that 'they' can end the war!. On the positive side, (as Hobbes said) war decisively concludes an argument: it "provideth for every man, by victory or death!." War (because acutely competitive) also frequently accelerates technical and economic development!. We owe to the 2WW, for instance, rapid advances in engineering, electronics, maths, psychology and personnel management!. It is also arguable (thoughly highly controversial) that the same competitive pressure bears on political and social institutions!. The 2WW and the cold war (according to this school of thought) was instrumental in consolidating the system we call democracy as opposed to the centralised command governments of Nazi Germany or Communist Russia!. Many civilian technologies are based on military counterparts!. These days population reduction would be a plus side of war!. War can be good to get what is better for the world, to improve the world, to help people, and to show to foreign nations that you are brave, and will not tolerate domination, and war could prevent or delay overpopulation!. good things about war are subjective because they can only be agreed upon as good to one side or the other amongst the fighters; there are two different opinions obviously, that's the problem and the beginning cause of a war!. To fight for good things might be for example, one could fight for peace, while another wants to take their oil, and in that case it seems the country fighting for their own peace is more justified because it is morally accepted to fight for peace, whereas it's not so kool to be fighting just to take some extra oil!. otherwise I see that the problem with war is not only that people will die sharp painful deaths, but also that it is sad that when we cannot agree upon something, we resort to hating and fighting out of stubbornness, stupidity and pride!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Hi We would not of landed on the moon, and saw space from different perspective other than from our contact lens (Telescope), if it wasn't for war!. There would be no remembrance day for those veterans that died for the country they solute too!. that we thank for there bravery through life & death!. we no longer need to worry about being on the over populated suvey poll as we now can be put on the extinction of our race poll!. Just think if where all dead there will be no war because there is no one left to volanteer to sacrofice their life for an unjust cause!. with war we increase the rate of desease and famine!. which we start to learn to develope vacines for cures!. Just think the doctors are the 1st to be exposed to the plague while attempting to cure there patients!. so there more determined to create a new remedy to cure the sick!. because if/when they get the disease, they will wan't that cure on hand!. Famine: well the military can ration the food supplies more effectivly as their is less mouths to feed!. Technology increasing, Human race depleting!.
