The War of 1812 started on June 24, 1812, when the Emperor Napoleon's Grand Armee of more than half a million men crossed the Nieman River and entered Russia!. Six months later, 90% of that enormous army was dead and left to rot on the frozen fields of a charred nation!. (This single army had more soldiers than all the Christian armies that fought in all the Crusades over a period of 500 years!.)
