According to Wilmot Robertson, Ancient Greece and Rome were founded on racism and destroyed by multi-culturalism!. So his argument is basically multi-culturalism creates conflict that becomes anarchy and eventually destroys nations because a nation made up of a bunch of distinct ethnic groups, creates conflict where group identity leads them to look after their own interest rather than everybody's interest and certain groups will use leverage over another group, especially minority groups who don't face a collective action problem because their interests are concentrated whereas the larger groups like a culture majority are spread out and don't feel the need to organize!. Its sad, but most different ethnic groups don't feel they can get a long with another and thus when usually anarchy starts, you will see new ethno states, that is what happened to Rome and Greece!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anarchy as in no government as opposed to Anarchy the political philosophy of Bakunin et al!?

Mayan culture crashed when the people lost respect for their religious and political leaders-the rains and harvests they had promised didnn"t arrive, they lost faith and attacked the temples themselves, melting into the jungle to become subsistence level tribes again!.

Lots of good examples in "Collapse" by Jared Diamond-the anarchy is usually a symptom, not a cause of the collapse!. Environmental pressures are the focus of his book!.

PS IMHO Bakunin style anarchy is the best form of civilisation possible!.

Anarchy is impossible to really say is the cause of anything, because true anarchy doesn't really happen with people, (there is always a leader)!. But most any fall of a major society had anarchy type qualities to them, (even Englands reign in the New world ended due to anarchy!.!.!.!.in a way)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anarchists did a pretty good job of starting WWI, but that destroyed regimes, not civilizations!. There are plenty of example of barbarians destroying civilization!. The Mongols made a wasteland out of Iraq and Afghanistan!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

England under King Stephen - 1135 - 1154!. A period of civil war!.
