1 Look at a map and work it out!. Rus was a Viking kingdom based on Kiev!.

2 Who was the Constantinople dude!? The answer is a bit, but some of the techniques and styles of Byzantine architecture were adopted by the Turks!.

3 Physically, yes!. But look up the 4th Crusade!. The Crusaders got as far as Constantinople, then sacked it!. A lot of the statues etc in Venice came from this episode!. Generally, the Byzantines wanted to keep the Crusades moving through as quickly as possible!.
