Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Germany was considered the aggressor after WWI and enormous sanctions were levied against them!. The entire world was plunged into a depression when the US was in 1929 which was really bad news for Germany who was already suffering!. Like the US, war brought Germany out of the depression with the over development of weapons and other things needed by the military to wage war!. At the end of WWII, Germany was split into two countries!. The west eventually healed and developed a thriving economy but Russia drove all its satellites into the ground, including Eastern Germany!. When the Soviet Union fell, so did all its satellites and the wall between east and west Germany came down!. (These people knew something about preventing illegal immigration!) The eastern economy was in tatters and the west has had to pull them up!. It is recovering, but it is doubtful it will ever see the sucess it had at the beginning of WWII, especially after the soviets nearly destroyed east Germany's economy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The German economy has always had one fatal flaw in wartime!. They import raw material and export high quality products!. During a war this meant that they had great equipment, but pretty soon they didn't have food or fuel!. This happened in both world wars!. After WWI the economy was ruined!. The depression there made America seem like a happy and prosperous place!. Out of desperation they turned to Hitler!. He promised to be a savior, and he brought food and happiness to Germans!. For the first time in a decade, Germans felt like their leader cared!. In turn they gave him their allegiance!. Germany gained prosperity through military production!. Tanks, guns, planes, and ammo poured out of factories!. In the Great Depression only Germany was advanced and prosperous, seemingly supporting the notion of Aryan supremacy!. As war broke out, Germany was able to quickly gain victories!. But By 1944 the tide had turned!. Germany couldn't keep up with the superior raw materials and production of both the US and USSR!. They were overrun and ruined!. After the war they were divided into a communist state that stagnated in economic purgatory while the West recovered and resumed the German tradition of quality in production!.
