Question: What was the successor to the Hurricane during Wolrd War II!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The Typhoon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, as you can see below, there were a number of intervening types between the Hurricane and the Typhoon, including, significantly, the Tornado!. It's absolutely true that in practical terms (as the Tornado was scrapped, and only three were actually built) the Typhoon was the successor to the Hurricane, but in the interests of accuracy, one must remember the Tornado, as well!. The Tempest was the successor of the Typhoon, and eventually gave rise to the Fury, which was the fastest piston engine fighter built during the war!.

If we're talking about aircraft manufactured by Hawker, yes the Typhoon is correct!.
If we're talking about the sequence of fighter aircraft per-se, then the Supermarine Spitfire is the answer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The spitfire!. The typhoon was designed to be it's successor, but it turned out to be better at ground attack!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
