Question: What were the death-tolls for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The atom bombs did not cause the greater part of Japanese civilian deaths from military action in the Home Islands!.

Casualties were greater in the initial wave of fire-bombings in March, 1945, about 150,000 civilian deaths, mostly in Tokyo!.

It has been estimated that about 800,000 Japanese civilians died as a result of military actions during the Pacific War across the entire theater of operations!. Japanese civilian deaths exceeded military deaths by about 50,000!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Altogether, the two bombings killed an estimated 110,000 Japanese citizens and injured another 130,000!. However, by 1950, another 230,000 Japanese had died from injuries or radiation!. (Though the two cities were nominally military targets, the overwhelming majority of the casualties were civilian!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

probably almost impossible to calculate, unless you stick to those who died during the bombing or directly afterward!.!.

But if you tried to calculate how many died 10 years later of cancer from the radiation!.!.!. I don't think the number has been tallied!.!.

yes, people died up to (maybe more than) 10 years after the bombing, from radiation-causing cancer

There was like a total of 300,000 or something like that!. Some died of radiation years later!. For both two citys, thats a lot of citizens to die!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
