Why is the 21st century and why!? ** Odd ball question, but maybe China!. ***** FYI during the 18th Century Italy, France, Portugal, and Spain were all rapidly competing for Old World and New World dominance, which created an opportunistic situation for England to expand amongst the competition!. If I were going to grant an 18th Century winner, I'd go for Spain since they are still an economically viable nation today and Spanish is spoken as a primary language in more countries than any other language!.Www@QuestionHome@Com They had a great economic system and trade framework!. Their Navy was the foremost maritime power, and they controlled imperial colonies of South Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand!. They were also victorious in the Napoleonic Wars and the Seven Years War!. As a colonial power, they controlled trade and industry in several parts of the world!. The United States began their dominion over the world with WWI and has not relinquished that position since!. Over the last century the US has controlled trade, politics, human rights and has helped pioneer formation of the UN and NATO!. Whenever there is help needed, to whom do they go!? Whenever there are human rights being violated, to whom do they go!? They were the richest country in the world with the largest navy and most powerful best trained army!. Their rule of the seas gave them an advantage over all enemies!. Aswell as that they were an industrail powerhouse and a democratic leader!. The US are also the richest country with the largest navy!. They too have the most powerful army, although their soldiers cant shoot straight!. The are industrail leaders and claim to be a democracy (we all know thats a lie)!.
