Daisy B is correct!. First Bull Run was the first major land battle!. It's sometimes called First Manassas in the South!. Bull Run was a creek, and Manassas was the name of the Railroad Junction, which was the strategic objective!.

This is where Thomas Jackson earned the nickname Stonewall!. This was because his Virginians held firm while others were getting panicky!. This steadfastness ended up resulting in a Confederate rally, that pushed the Union troops back, and this is when the Union soldiers began running back toward Washington, getting tangled up in the picnickers who had come out from Washington to watch the battle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
