One day we'll demand that candidates issue a position paper that tells us for what they stand!. We have to make our candidates, and our leaders, accountable!. If McCain says (as he has) that he opposes drilling for oil (an obsolete energy form) in new places like the off-shore Gulf of Mexico, then we expect him to hold, and defend, that decision! If he suddenly decides that his position may not be popular to some, then he should try to convince those people of his position, NOT change his position (for this week) and then change back, and then alter his position again!. I'll never vote for McCain, because he has done just this: he was the first Republican (that I heard) that blamed global warming on oil and coal, but then back-flipped when he needed campaign money from!.!.!.oil and coal companies! He's Mr!. Mellow until he wants to run for Prez, and then he toes the party line (Oil now, oil tomorrow, oil until we burn every single drop! And then we go to coal) in order to get the ca$h!Www@QuestionHome@Com He flip-fopped because it became politically expedient to change his mind!. For such an environmentalist and maverick in he's party he's really turned out to be a hypocrite and a coward!. It's not going to have huge longterm effects except on the environment!.
