Both groups were enslaved by the early colonists, but the natives did not survive as well in that environment, hence the importation of the African slaves!. They question itself is really hard to answer, without bringing in the geography and distinct areas and attitudes of the U!.S!. Myself, I look at how a person treats me, the color of their skin is not an issue I have with people!. I still know people in the southeast who despise seeing an African-American/ Caucasian couple, but have no real problem with seeing a Native American and a Caucasian couple!. While in mid-western and western states I saw and heard the exact opposite!. A friend of mine from Canada does in fact date outside his race, but never with a Native North American!. I will refrain from the language he used to describe that type of couple!. Attitudes still intact today can give a glimpse into the past of certain areas!. Prejudice and racism is very hard to over come, no matter where we live!.

Natives because they were being "genocided", hunted to extinction even with the army, shot at sight by farmers, and denied the right to go on their own land; whereas African- Americans were introduced to America, given some place to live though conditions were bad, and used (abused) for free labour, and ultimately freed and protected by the "North", the Yanky federal gov't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that the Native Americans were hated more because of Lewis and Clarks adventures!. They ran into some Suixe warriors and got into a fight with them and Clark killed one!. And another reason was that the Trappers made them out worse than they were!.

Well I personally prefer the Native Americans!. They didn't have dictatorships, or monarchys, like many african civilizations!. But Im just talking about the NA from USA and Canada!.

I don't think either one was "hated!." More like abused!. I'd say we treated African American's were treated worse because we enslaved them, but only stole the Native American's land!. It's a matter of opinion I suppose!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
