the coming of deng xiaoping lead to a huge change in the Chinese policies!. there was a significant thaw in the chilly american/chinese relations which were initially improving under nixon!.

not only that but deng allowed increases in capitalism and private ownership in special 'economic zones!.' this then encouraged foreign investment and a boom in chinese economy!.

deng in the early 80's pretty much paved the way for the chinese powerhouse that we have today!. they pretty much took over the beneficial aspects of capitalism when they need to improve business while at the same time keeping the limited freedoms and overall government power of communism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They were fed up of being skint!.

Russia was f****d!. So they realized it was all a sham, but they couldn't admit it!. So now, they pretend to be commies!.
