Question: Researching About the Holocaust!?
Has anyone else had the same experience!?- the curators for collections about the Holocaust make you feel guilty for asking `impertinent` questions and as if because in some way you feel marginalised by nonJewish (or even jewish) culture you have antisocial problem!. So don`t blame the Holocaust and/or the current treatment of Jews (by Jews and others) for your neurosis!.
In researching, I came across some documents which alluded to 10 million and not 6 million Jews sought for extermination by Hitler!.
My feeling is the numbers must have been about 20 or 30 million!.
I pointed this out to the curator who made me feel that a complete and utter nuisance!.
I know at the Cadogan Hall recently I was in the audience whilst some authority was talking about the great German-Jewish composers prior to the Holocaust!. One had converted to Catholicism and was also a monarchist!. The speaker hooted at him!.
I spoke up!. The speaker was acting like Hitler!. And Hitler was a SH**Www@QuestionHome@Com

As a researcher and student of Jewish history it is far better to not express personal views in public so you will not be publicly rebuked by someone who considers themselves an expert!. It is much better to research on your own and if possible find a survivor or descendant to interview!. Oral histories are invaluable because they are a first person account of the event/s!. Perhaps the curator was only counting the number of Jews in spite of the fact that many others fell victim to this atrocity!. Look for "History of the Jews" written by Howard Fast, "Night" by Elie Wiesel, and "Tramp for the Lord" by Corrie Ten Boom, a Dutch Christian woman who was sent to Auschwitz with her family!. Her father and sister died there!. There are many other good books such as "Escape from Sorbibor" and "Children of the Holocaust" that are available from the library!. If they don't have copies, perhaps you can get them on inter-library loan!. Good Luck!!

I am quite amazed that you feel that the number of Jews who died in the Jewish Holocaust was 20-30m!. Reasonable estimates can be made of the number of Jews in Germany and the occupied territories prior to 1933 and from this a figure for casualties can be derived!. If there was just a slim chance that the figure was greater than 6m, the Holocaust Industry would have undoubtedly have used the highest plausible number!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
how can you stereotype a whole group based on one curator!? ( who may not even have been jewish) and say their neurotic!? that's really inappropriate and as someone who personally knows survivors, you have no right to judge !.

A number of years ago I was doing some research on the holocaust myself, and was reading through books in a book shop when someone spat on me!!!
The subject is always emotive, and so you should just try to ignore the reactions you will generally getWww@QuestionHome@Com
Have you tried researching at the Jewish Museum!. THere is a great one in Camden Town, London!. I have been to another good one in Sydney, Australia!. I think that these would be a useful place to do research!. LOLWww@QuestionHome@Com

It's odd how the holocaust has spawned its own sets of repression!.
I had a similar experience with a man who was supposed to be providing information about the holocaust at the New York Public Library!. I asked if he felt Hitler alone was responsible!.!.!. and he said yes!. When I suggested that the whole thing could not have happened without the collusion of millions of Germans, some of them themselves Jewish, he actually threatened to have me removed from the room!.
I guess in his version of 'reality' Hitler burned every Jew himself, guarded every prison, turned in every prisoner all by himself and no one else knew it was going on!.!.!.
I cannot understand how we can learn from this terrible event if we are supposed to believe such obvious nonsense!.
