He formed his own organisation, the Organisation for Afro-American Unity He ridiculed Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech saying "While King was having a dream, the rest of us Negroes are having a nightmare"!. He started out promoting violence!. He feared assassination from the Nation of Islam, the FBI and the Ku Klux Klan and armed himself to respond!. Around 1965 he visited Mecca and had a conversion to non-violence!. On 21st Feb 1965 he attended a speaking engagement at the Audibon Ballroom in New York!. It was a Saturday!. As he entered, 3 men attacked with firearms and killed him!. His original name was Malcolm Little!. His wife gave birth to twins a few weeks later!.
