Depends on what you mean by giant!. I am not sure if there is a converse term for dwarfism for very big and tall men or women and if so that would be referred to as giantism or something like that!. If you consider some really big people whose celebrity emanated from their huge size ( not necessarily obese but big bone structure and tall) like the professional wrestler: Andre the giant one would imagine that there must have been giants throughout history!. The vikings for one where known to be big human specimens!.
However if you are talking about giants as they appear in children's stories- I don't think they ever existed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a wide statistical variation but giants cannot have existed since human beings ( and any species ) have sizes determined by the ratio of volume to surface area and these delimit the range pretty much!. That is, an elephant cannot be a large mouse; Nature had to change the nature of the structure of an elephant's feet and bones to handle the much larger weight as well as changing the nature of metabolism, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What do you mean!? As in mythical sense!? 20' tall!? No!.

Extremely tall people have have been around for ages!. The average height has been going up as living conditions have improved!. If most of the people were say 5'6" anyone 6'6" would have seemed huge!. Then as now everything is relative!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Giants in the mythical sense did not exist!. Tall people such as Goliath in the Bible were probally taller than the average man probally 6'6" or so since most men were 5 foot tall at that time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
