The spread of technology was probably the most important!. Once the printing press got to work, many more people became literate!. This stimulated an interest in learning in general, which did a great deal to foster independent thinking!. This was a huge and necessary blow to the Catholic Church, one of the worst tyrannies in history!. Developments in seafaring technology (such as new rigging and sails) enabled ships to go on much further journeys, which led to the discovery of the New World!. Better weapons enabled the Russians to shove the Muslim tribes out of southern and eastern Russia, enabling Russia to take all of Siberia by about 1650!. During this period the first real nations formed, such as England, France and Spain!. The production of cloth became an entire industry, and it continued to become more and more mechanized throughout this period!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
