Consider it like this: the American colonists left England for independence!. They weren't going to ask for a lot of English help once they'd gotten to the New World!. That aside, how exactly would they GET help!? You have to keep in mind that it took approximately 66 days to travel back and forth!. By the time they got back to England, refilled the boat of food and such, and then journied back, at LEAST 132 days would have passed!.

They basically had no other choice but to be self-reliant!.

And England aside-- they HAD to be self-reliant because of this one question: Who else is there!? They had to be their own farmer, their own doctor, their own teacher!. No one else was going to do it for them!.

because there was no one to look after them!.!.!.!.!.they were on fairly bad terms with most natives, all of their mother countries were across this long expanse of water called the ocean, oh and the land they were now living on happened to be shockingly unfamiliar from europe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

there were no walmarts or burger kings!. they even had to grow their own food and build their own homes!. what is more, the had to fight the natives who wanted them to go home!. they still want them and their slaves to go home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
