Well there was the Civil war in the 1600's between Cromwell and the Kings forces!.

There were also the Anglo Dutch wars in the late 1600's, which Britain eventually won!.

Britain fought various wars in Indonersia and India during this period, mainly against the native peoples, the Dutch and the French, winning all of them!.

In the 1700's Britain fought and won the Battle of Blenhiem under Marlborogh!.

They also defeated the French in the Battle for Canada in the mid 1700's!.

During the 1700's, Britain also fought various wars in India against different Kingdoms, winning them all, an important battle was Plessey in 1757!.

Britain lost its American colonies(except Canada) between 1776 and 1783, although there wasnt much political will to keep the colonies, and the colonists were mostly Ethnic Britons and British citizens anyhow, so you could call it a civil war!

In the 19th Century, Britain fought the Napoleonic wars against Napoleon and his allies!. Wellington won every battle he ever fought!.won these!.

Britain also got the best of the war of 1812 with the USA, who were defeated in their attempt to take Canada, and Washington was burned in the process!.

The 19th Century saw the Opium Wars and Boxer Rebellion in China, both of which Britain won!.

Britain continued to fight and win many wars in India in 19th Century, winning them all!.!.the main ones being the Sikh Wars and the Indian Mutiny, as well as the Burmese conquest!.

Britain fought a number of Wars in Afghanistan, the main objectives of these was to install friendly rulers in Afghanistan rather than to conquer it!. Sometimes this was successful, sometimes not!.

There was the Crimean war, which was a a major War between Britain and France and the Russian Empire, it was designed to stop Russia swallowing the Ottoman Empire, which was successful!.

There was also the Zulu, Boer and Ashanti wars in Africa, all of which Britain won, and also the victory over the Dervishes in Sudan!.!.Britain also won a brief war with Ethiopia, and successfully colonised huge swathes of Africa without much opposition!.

There were some less well known campaigns, such as a bombardment of Denmark, and also one of Argentina!.!.!.Britain also colonised Malaysia and much of the South Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand, without any large scale conflicts!.

In the 20th Century the major wars were WW1 and WW2,both were won, but also a Viet Nam style conflict in the jungles of Malaysia against Communists in the 1950's, and against the Mau Mau in Kenya in the same decade!.!.!.both were won, as was the Suez war against Egypt, although the British pulled out under pressure from the USA!.

Britain also fought a short and winning war against Iraq during WW2!.

In the 1980's they fought and Won the Falklands campaign against Argentina!.

More recently we have had two wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and in Sierra Leone, Britain was part of a coalition which won all these!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not sure of number if you count all the little ones b ut won them all I think!.!. Would query whether Suez was a win though!. also American war of independence was a loss ,, but cant think of any other losses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't forget the Risings of 1715 and 1745, along with these other wars that have been listed as well!. We would hate to forget the Bonnie Prince Charlie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
